Vol. 194 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Telephone Service.

62.

Mr. McEllistrim, Mr. O'Connor,

andMrs. Crowley asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware that the telephone service in County Kerry is unsatisfactory; and what steps he proposes to take to remedy the matter.

I am aware that during busy periods the telephone service in parts of County Kerry is not satisfactory.

Arrangements are in hand to undertake a number of new trunk cabling schemes within County Kerry and a contract has been placed for a microwave radio link which will provide ample circuits between County Kerry and the main cable network at Limerick. These schemes will take about two years to complete.

Question No. 63 postponed.
