Vol. 194 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pay Increases for Attendants.

68.

asked the Minister for Education if he will investigate the delay in the paying of increases to attendants employed in the National Gallery, the National Library, the College of Art and the National Museum, which were granted to them on 29th November, 1961.

The delay was caused by the fact that the claims in respect of the officers in question formed part of conciliation proceedings which had to be dealt with as a whole and could not be finalised until all the claims had been disposed of. The arrears have now been paid.

When were they paid?

Sanction for the increase was received on 23rd March. March 27th, I think, would be the date.
