Vol. 194 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South West Cork Flood Losses.

80.

asked the Minister for Defence whether in view of the loss of personal effects, household furniture and kitchen utensils suffered by persons owing to flood damage in the Cork South West area he will ask the Irish Red Cross Society to investigate and alleviate the sufferings of these people.

In carrying out its rôle in dealing with the immediate relief of hardship Cumann Croise Deirge na hÉireann acts on its own initiative and it would not be appropriate for me to ask An Cumann to investigate particular cases.
