Vol. 194 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Forestry Land.

46.

asked the Minister for Lands when the work of afforestation is likely to start on the land at Noard, Two-Mile-Borris, Thurles, County Tipperary, which has been offered to his Department for the past four or five years.

In May, 1961, the Forestry Division of my Department agreed to purchase an area of 67 acres in the townland of Noard. Subsequently an offer of an additional area of 40 acres was received from the same owner, with a request that both transactions should be dealt with together. The further offer is being investigated. Pending completion of the proceedings, it is not possible to state when work will commence in the area.
