Vol. 195 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bridge Works.

35.

andMr. T. O'Donnell asked the Minister for Local Government when it is intended to commence work on (a) the erection of Kiltankin Bridge as arranged between Limerick, Cork and Tipperary County Councils and (b) the improvement of the bridge at Kilbeheney on the main Cork-Dublin Road.

(a) Before work can commence on Kiltankin Bridge a Bridge Order under Part IV of the Local Government Act, 1946, must be made to enable Tipperary (S.R.) County Council, as agreed between the local authorities concerned, to undertake the work. Some detailed information essential for the making of the Bridge Order has been requested of the Tipperary (S.R.) County Council and is still awaited.

(b) Limerick County Council who are the executing authority under the Bridge Order made in respect of Kilbeheney Bridge have been requested to submit revised plans, based on amendments suggested by my Department to their original design. The revised plans, which must also be considered by the Cork County Council, have not yet been received in my Department.

Question No. 36 postponed.
