An official guide to national monuments published some years ago is now out of print. Consideration is being given to the publication of an up-to-date guide. The text has been prepared by officers of the National Monuments Branch, and approval in principle has been obtained from the Department of Finance. Bord Fáilte have interested themselves in the project, and have offered to contribute to the cost of publication. Final details regarding layout, etc., have not been settled. There have been no outside commissions.
