Vol. 195 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - River Brosna Bridge.

29.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the delay, so far as his Department is concerned, in regard to the construction of a new bridge over the River Brosna at Clononey, Shannonbridge, County Offaly; if he will give the date on which the proposal came from the Offaly County Council; and when it is expected that he can give his approval for the carrying-out of this very urgent work.

No avoidable delay has occurred in my Department in dealing with the Offaly County Council's proposal for the reconstruction of Clononey bridge. A proposal to appoint a consultant for this work was made on the 6th March, 1958. Final contract documents received on 14th ultimo have been approved, subject to certain minor modifications.
