asked the Minister for Lands (a) the number of acres of land in the possession of the Land Commission prior to April, 1962 in North Tipperary, (b) the number of acres let for grazing on the eleven months system, (c) the number of acres let for tillage, and (d) the letting price per acre under each heading for the years 1960, 1961 and 1962.

Land Commission records are not compiled by reference to constituency areas. In relation to County Tipperary as a whole, the replies to the various parts of the Question are as follows:

(a), (b) & (c) At 31st March, 1962, the aggregate area (including bog) in the possession of the Land Commission, for use as a working pool for land settlement in the county, was approximately 5,600 acres, the approximate acreages currently let for grazing and tillage being 4,450 acres and 250 acres, respectively.

(d) Average letting price per acre in 1960, 1961 and 1962, was £4-4-0, £4-16-0 and £4-18-0, respectively, for grazing and £7, £7-9-0 and £5-13-0, respectively, for tillage.
