Vol. 196 No. 3

asked the Minister for Finance the amount of entertainments tax raised from (a) dance halls and (b) cinemas in each of the last three financial years; and the estimated yield from this tax at the rates current in the year 1960-61 for the current financial year.

*As a result of the decision to terminate entertainments duty as from 1st October, 1962, the actual estimates of net receipts for 1962-63 are—£45,000 (Dances) and £405,000 (Cinemas).

†Estimated on the basis of the rates of duty current in 1961-62. (Due to changes in the duty structure introduced in 1960, it would not be possible to furnish an estimate on the basis of the rates current in 1960-61).
