Vol. 196 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Headage Grant Payments in North Tipperary.

130.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he can state the amount of money paid out by way of headage grant to farmers for reactor cows since the start of the Bovine Tuberculosis Eradication Scheme in North Tipperary.

The records of expenditure under the Bovine Tuberculosis Eradication Scheme kept by my Department do not distinguish between North and South Tipperary. The amount paid by way of headage grant in respect of County Tipperary as a whole from 1st October, 1959, when the headage grant arrangements first came into operation, up to 20th June, 1962, was £446,773.
