asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state for a recent date the number of companies outside Ireland with places of business in Ireland, and the estimated number of persons employed by such companies within the State.

The Register maintained by the Companies Registration Office contains the names of 837 companies incorporated outside the State, which have established places of business here. Figures of the number employed by these companies are not available.
