The officer referred to in the question retired from na Buan- Óglaigh with effect from 1 Lúnasa, 1961, and was appointed to be an officer of na hÓglaigh Cúltaca with effect from 1 Meán Fómhair, 1961. He is still an officer of na hÓglaigh Cúltaca which is part of the Defence Forces.
