Vol. 196 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary Sickness and Disablement Benefit.

29.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of persons in receipt of (a) sickness benefit and (b) disablement benefit in North Tipperary in March 1961, June 1961, September 1961, December 1961 and March 1962.

The statistics asked for by the Deputy are not available in my Department.

I might add that under the Social Welfare Acts operative since the 5th January, 1953 there is no distinction between sickness and disablement benefit. The benefit now payable is described as disability benefit.
