Vol. 196 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Posting of Grants of Probate and Administration.

33.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Justice if in order to avoid delay and unnecessary postage he will arrange that the Probate Office send Grants of Probates and Administrations by registered post direct to country solicitors at their country addresses instead of to the addresses of their Dublin town agents.

The Rules and practice of the High Court provide that, for the purpose of delivery of all High Court documents including Grants of Probate and Administrations, each solicitor shall have a duly registered place of business situate within the municipal boundary of the City of Dublin. The Rules do not permit the delivery of documents to an address other than the solicitor's registered place of business. The revision of the rules, which has recently been completed, has not resulted in a modification of practice in this matter.
