Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Health whether his Department have completed consideration of the studies recommended by the Food Advisory Committee into the fluorine content of food referred to in a reply of 27th March 1962; and, if so, with what result.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Health if he will state with reference to the studies recommended by the Food Advisory Committee into the fluorine content of food referred to by him in a reply of 27th March, 1962 whether consultations have taken place with food producers and manufacturers of processed foods and drinks; and, if so, the nature and result of such consultations.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 11 and 12 together.

Examination of the recommendations of the Food Advisory Committee regarding the presence of fluorine in food has not yet been completed in my Department.

The question of consultations with the trade interests referred to in the Deputy's second Question does not arise in relation to this Report of the Food Advisory Committee.
