Vol. 196 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Bridge Order.

58.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that Tipperary South Riding County Council, Limerick County Council and Cork County Council agreed 0to erect a bridge at Kiltenkin, Ballyporeen, County Tipperary to span the River Funcheon; if he received a request from Tipperary South Riding County Council for a Bridge Order; and if he will now state the reason for the delay in making such Order.

An application from Tipperary (SR) County Council for a Bridge Order in respect of the bridge referred to by the Deputy was received in my Department on 11th January last. Following receipt of the application my Department has been in communication with the council as to the submission of additional information essential for the making of the Order. The application is at present being examined in the light of a letter received from the council on 29th ultimo. There has been no avoidable delay in dealing with the application.
