Vol. 196 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Salary Scales of Cork Hospital Staff.

4.

asked the Minister for Health if new salary scales for the administrative staff attached to Our Lady's Hospital, Cork, are before his Department for sanction; and, if so, what progress has been made in the matter.

Proposals for the revision of the salary scales of certain members of the administrative staff of Our Lady's Hospital, Cork, have been received in my Department and have now been examined. My decision on the proposals referred to will be conveyed to the health authority in the course of the next few days.

I should, perhaps, add that such delay as has occurred was due to the need to consider the proposals in relation to proposals regarding comparable hospitals. The revised scales will operate retrospectively.
