Vol. 196 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Closing of Dublin Sheet Metal Works.

21.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that Sheet Metal Engineering Limited, Dublin Road, Howth, County Dublin may be forced to close down within the next few weeks, thereby rendering more than eighty people unemployed and causing a serious disruption in the programme for the building of power stations and in the programmes of other Irish industries; and whether he is prepared to do everything in his power to assist in preventing the threatened close-down.

No representations have been made to me in regard to the matters mentioned in the Deputy's question.

Special inquiries which I caused to be made reveal that every effort is being made by the interests concerned to continue the industrial activities carried on by Sheet Metal Engineering Ltd.
