Vol. 196 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - National Revenue and Gross National Product.

4.

(South Tipperary) asked the Taoiseach the ratio between national revenue and gross national product over the past five years in this country, in Great Britain, in Northern Ireland and in each member-country of EEC.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing the current revenue of general government as a percentage of gross national product at current market prices for Ireland, the United Kingdom and each member country of EEC. Corresponding data are not available for Britain and the Six Counties separately. The information has been extracted from the United Nations Yearbook of National Accounts 1961 in which the definitions used are those of the UN System of National Accounts and supporting tables. The latest year for which the data are available is 1960.

Following is the statement:—

GENERAL Government Current Revenue as percentage Gross National Product at current market prices.
