asked the Minister for External Affairs the number of Irish citizens recommended for deportation from Great Britain since the 1st January last, and the number of such persons actually deported.

One hundred and seventy-five recommendations for deportation have been made in respect of Irish citizens; 49 of these recommendations have been confirmed and 45 Irish citizens have actually been deported. The remaining four are still undergoing the prison sentences.
