Official figures of earnings from travel and tourism in 1962 are not yet available. Information to hand suggests that while there may have been a pause in the rate of growth in the tourist traffic in the current year there is no evidence of a recession.
No reconstitution of the powers and functions of Bord Fáilte is contemplated. Indeed, the major requirement for the stimulation of tourist traffic is greater promotion work by private interests supplementing the main Bord Fáilte publicity campaign.
