28.

andMr. Jones asked the Minister for Agriculture the total amount of money which is expected to be spent by University College, Dublin, on the acquisition of land for the Faculty of Agricultural Science and for the erection of buildings thereon.

29.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the total estimated cost (i) to the State and (ii) to University College, Dublin, of the acquisition of land and the erection of buildings thereon for the Faculty of Agricultural Science.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 28 and 29 together.

The Lyons Estate, Celbridge, has been purchased by University College, Dublin, at a price of £100,000. I understand that the College authorities have not yet formulated building plans for the estate which only came into their possession on the 1st November.

It is not expected that there will be any net cost to the State.
