andMr. Jones asked the Taoiseach (a) the estimated average cost to parents of rearing a child to (i) primary school leaving age of 14 years (ii) secondary school leaving age of 18 years and (iii) university leaving age of 22-24 years, (b) the estimated average State expenditure involved in respect of each category, and (c) the estimated average life-earning potentiality in respect of each category.

asked the Taoiseach the estimated average life-earnings of a person who has (a) completed primary school and received no further education after the age of 14 years, (b) completed secondary school and received no further education after the age of 18 years, and (c) received a university education to the age of 22-24 years.

asked the Taoiseach the estimated average cost to the parents of rearing a child to (a) the age of fourteen years, leaving primary school, (b) the age of 18 years, leaving secondary school, and (c) the age of 22-24 years, leaving university.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 4, 5 and 6 together.

No reliable estimates are available of the average costs in question to the parents or State or of the "life earning potentialities" of individuals.
