Vol. 197 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Marriage Age.

8.

asked the Minister for Health if he will consider raising the minimum marriage age by one year.

The question of raising the minimum age for marriage in the State and also the carrying out of certain amendments to the Marriage Acts is at present under consideration in my Department. No final decision has, however, yet been arrived at in regard to any of those proposals which, if adopted, would involve legislation.
