asked the Minister for Agriculture (a) the date on which production began at the Condensed Milk Company Cheese Factory in Limerick, (b) the amount of cheese produced since production began, (c) the amount exported, and (d) the countries to which it was exported, indicating in the case of each country (i) the amount, (ii) the price paid, (iii) the method of transport, (iv) the cost of transport, and (v) the person or body who paid for the transport.

The production of cheese at the factory of the Condensed Milk Company at Limerick began on 31st August, 1959. All the cheese manufactured has been for export to Great Britain with the exception of one order for the USA. The cheese is normally packed in containers at the factory and railed to various ports for shipment, the cost of transport being borne by the Company.

As regards the other information requested it is not the practice to disclose details of the commercial transactions of individual firms.
