Vol. 197 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - Laois-Offaly Estates.

48.

asked the Minister for Lands the names, acreage and location of estates in Laois and Offaly in the possession of the Land Commission which will be divided between now and April, 1963.

Already this year, lands aggregating 320 acres in Laois and 408 acres in Offaly have been allotted by the Land Commission. The land settlement programme for the remainder of the current financial year is necessarily still tentative and it is not possible at this stage to indicate precisely the particular lands which will be disposed of by next April in Laois and Offaly. Perhaps, in the circumstances, it would meet the Deputy's requirements to know that, for the year as a whole, it may be possible to achieve an aggregate allotment in the region of 1,000 acres in each of these counties.

If the Deputy is interested in any particular estate, I would suggest that he communicate direct with the Land Commission in the matter.
