Vol. 198 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cost of Committee on Health Services.

11.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance the total cost to date of the Select Committee on the Health Services, including the salaries of officials engaged in any work in connection with the work of the said Committee, and the cost of all stationery, printing and postage.

It is not possible to apportion the cost of staff, stationery and postage in relation to the work of the Select Committee. Whatever work is necessary is performed by the appropriate members of the staffs of the Office of the Houses of the Oireachtas and of the Department of Health as part of their normal duties. Postage stamps are not used, as all letters issued go under the ordinary office "frank". Expenditure on printing is estimated to be £1,570.
