Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the proposed new national schools at (a) Whitehall Road, Crumlin, (b) St. Vincents, Goldenbridge, (c) Fortfield-Terenure (infants), and (d) Chapelizod, Dublin, and the accommodation to be provided.

The present position regarding the provision of new schools is as follows:—

(a) Whitehall Road

Sketch plans for a new school for about 800 pupils have been prepared and are under consideration.

(b) St. Vincents, Goldenbridge

Sketch plans for a new block of classrooms for 240 pupils of the Industrial School are being examined.

(c) Fortfield-Terenure

A report on the suitability of sites recently offered for the new schools is awaited. The accommodation has not been definitely fixed.

(d) Chapelizod

A suitable site has not yet been obtained.
