asked the Minister for Education the number of national schools in the Gaeltacht areas in each of the following counties: Galway, Mayo, Kerry, Donegal and Waterford.

The information requested is as follows:— Galway, 69; Mayo, 49; Kerry, 27; Donegal, 99; and Waterfored, two.

asked the Minister for Education the number of (a) national teachers and (b) national teachers who are native speakers of Irish, who are employed in schools in the Gaeltacht areas in each of the following counties: Galway, Kerry, Mayo, Donegal and Waterford.

(a) The numbers are as follows:— Galway, 157; Kerry, 56; Mayo, 110; Donegal, 192; and Waterford, five. (b) In the matter of qualifications in Irish, there is no differentiation as between native speakers and others. Hence the information sought by the Deputy is not readily available.
