Vol. 199 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Donegal Road Improvements.

43.

asked the Minister for Local Government if a special grant will be made available for the purpose of road improvements at the Atlantic Drive, Downings, County Donegal; and if any proposals have been submitted for tourist grant purposes for a new road to open up scenic beauty in the Fanad peninsula.

Donegal County Council have available for 1962-63 a county road improvement grant of £234,000 and it is open to them to consider carrying out any necessary improvement works on the Atlantic Drive route in the programme of works to be financed under that grant. A special grant could not be given for the purpose.

No proposals have been submitted by the council for the construction of new roads in the Fanad peninsula.

I should like to have the reply to that question repeated. I did not hear the answer due to interruptions. Deputies other than Deputy Lynch are interrupting.

There was nobody shouting but Deputy Lynch.

(Interruptions.)
