Vol. 199 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Commission on Workmen's Compensation.

47.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare whether he has yet completed his consideration of the Report of the Commission on Workmen's Compensation; and, if so, what recommendations of the Commission he intends to put into effect.

I have completed an initial examination of the Report of the Commission on Workmen's Compensation but I am not yet in a position to say which of its recommendations will be put into effect.

Has the Minister any idea when he will be able to say?

I would not like to forecast. It should not be too long.

Might it be a year?

Certainly, a decision will be made long before that. I do not know when I shall be in a position to bring in legislation.
