Vol. 199 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Power Cuts.

13.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power whether the prolonged spell of severe weather will entail any power cuts in gas or electricity.

I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that while their generating capacity has been taxed to the utmost, the danger of power cuts is now receding with the change in the weather.

I am informed by the gas companies that they do not foresee any likelihood of gas supplies having to be curtailed because of present weather conditions.
