Vol. 199 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Agricultural Holdings.

6.

asked the Taoiseach the number of agricultural holdings with rateable valuations under £50, between £50 and £75, between £75 and £100, and over £100.

The latest particulars available concerning the number of agricultural holdings classified by rateable valuation are those collected in the June, 1960, agricultural enumeration which extended to all holdings of ¼ acre or more. Compilations already carried out showed 322,703 such holdings with rateable valuation, land and buildings together, not exceeding £50. There were 24,030 holdings exceeding £50 but not exceeding £100 rateable valuation and 11,805 holdings exceeding £100 in rateable valuation. Data on valuation were not returned in respect of 1,575 holdings.

It is estimated that of the holdings in the £50-£100 valuation range the number with rateable valuation between £50 and £75 was about 17,000.
