Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Removal of Grille in Dáil Chamber.

14.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will have the unsightly grille between the public gallery and the Dáil Chamber, Leinster House removed, as in no other parliament in Europe is such an impediment to vision considered necessary.

The grille was provided in 1930 following a request from the Office of the Houses of the Oireachtas. It seems to me that the question of removing the grille would primarily be a matter for consideration by the Committee on Procedure and Privileges, and I propose to have it referred to that body.
