Vol. 199 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repair of Portlaoise Lane.

26.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has received an application for a grant under the Rural Improvements Scheme from Mr. Richard C. Bennett, Johnsboro, Mountrath, Portlaoise, in respect of Johnsboro Lane, Camross, Portlaoise, which is in a very bad state of repair; if he will state the reason for the long delay in carrying out an inspection of the proposed work and in sanctioning the grant; and if he will make arrangements to have this application disposed of to the satisfaction of all concerned.

It is assumed that the question refers to an application received on 27th October, 1962 from Mr. Cyril Bennett and others for a grant for the repair of a bog and accommodation road at Johnsboro. Because of the shortage of staff, coupled with the large demand for grants, it has not yet been found possible to have the proposal inspected. It will be attended to as soon as possible.
