Vol. 199 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Trawlers on River Suir.

72.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware of the complaint of the Passage East and Ballyhack Fishermen's Association, County Waterford that big trawlers are operating above the line on the River Suir to the detriment of the white fish beds in the river; and, if so, if he will take steps to afford protection against this practice.

Any such complaint should be brought to the notice of the local Garda Síochána immediately an apparent infringement of the relevant bye-law is detected so that effective action can be taken.
