asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if, in view of the difficulty experienced by employees of his Department in obtaining houses on transfer all over the country, he will arrange to follow the example of the Department of Justice in requesting the National Building Agency to erect houses for those employees.

No request has been received from the associations representing staff in the Department for the provision of houses and I am not aware of any general difficulty being experienced in securing houses. Almost all transfers of married men are made voluntarily. In the circumstances I do not propose to ask the National Building Agency to erect houses for Post Office employees.
