Vol. 200 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wages of Vocational Committee Servants.

79.

asked the Minister for Education when it is proposed to revise Circular 14/51, in view of the unsatisfactory position of many vocational education committees in the country in regard to it.

I am not clear as to the nature of the unsatisfactory position to which the Deputy refers. The circular in question sanctions the fixing by vocational education committees of the wages of committees' servants, including caretakers, by reference to the wages paid in comparable local employment. It seems to me that that is a fair and reasonable arrangement.
