Vol. 200 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick City Garda Station.

39.

asked the Minister for Justice what plans he has for the replacement or renovation of William Street Garda Station, Limerick; and when work on any such replacement will begin.

It has been decided to replace William Street Station by a new building. The question of the location of the new station has been the subject of discussion between the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Finance and the City Manager and officers of Limerick Corporation but no final decision has yet been made. I am not, therefore, in a position to say at this stage when building operations will commence.

What does the Minister intend to do with the present barracks?

The disposal of the old barracks is a matter for the Office of Public Works. If the Deputy is interested, he can make a bid for them.

Not likely.
