2.

asked the Taoiseach whether he has had any communication with the member-countries of the European Free Trade Association with regard to the present European trade situation, since the indefinite postponement of the negotiations on Britain's application for membership of the European Economic Community; and, if so, what was the nature of such communication.

The member-Governments of the European Free Trade Association have been informed of our interest in being kept advised of developments in the Association or between the Association and the European Economic Community. We have indicated our particular interest in any developments in the agricultural field.
