Vol. 200 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers - Farm Building Scheme.

25.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware of the shortage of inspectors who operate under the Farm Building Scheme, and of the long delay experienced by many farmers in waiting for their money when a scheme is complete; and what steps he proposes to take to remedy the matter.

I am not aware that the position is as stated by the Deputy. There are at present only four vacancies for Inspectors in the country, and it is expected that these will be filled during the next few weeks. The number and amount of grants paid in this financial year are a record.
