Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers - East Cork Housing Needs.

40.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that the failure of the South Cork Board of Housing and Sanitary Services to provide sufficient new housing in the East Cork area is likely to prevent the establishment of a fruit and vegetable processing industry in the area, owing to shortage of housing for workers; and if he will take steps to ensure that the Board provide an increased amount of houses in the area.

I am not so aware. It is a matter for each housing authority concerned to formulate proposals for the provision of whatever local authority houses are needed in their area and in doing so they may have regard to the need which arises through industrial or other development in the area.
