Vol. 200 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bord Iascaigh Mhara Boatyards.

32.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will ensure that An Bord Iascaigh Mhara will not close down any of their boatyards, and that no member of the staffs of the boatyards will be declared redundant.

I am hopeful that various incentives in the Government's Programme of Sea Fisheries Development will encourage competent fishermen to apply for new boats to an extent which, when coupled with repair and maintenance work, will at least maintain the present level of activity at the boatyards of An Bord Iascaigh Mhara.
