Vol. 200 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Delivery of Legal Diary.

45.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Justice whether, having regard to the fact that the workings of the High and Circuit Courts in Dublin have been disrupted by misprints in, and delays in the delivery of, the Legal Diary, he will now introduce a system supplementary to the Legal Diary, whereby solicitors on record in cases will receive direct notice from courts' offices when such cases are first entered in the Diary.

I am not aware that the workings of the High Court and the Circuit Court in Dublin have been disrupted by misprints in, or delays in the delivery of the Legal Diary. As indicated in my reply to the Deputy's Question on 5th July last, I am satisfied that the notice given in the Legal Diary is adequate and sufficiently convenient for solicitors; and I am not satisfied that I would be justified in introducing a system whereby solicitors would receive notification from court offices in addition to what is contained in the Legal Diary.
