Vol. 201 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meath Industries.

28.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether there are any proposals before his Department for the establishment of new industries in the county constituency of Meath; and, if so, if he will indicate the number, their proposed location, their nature, and the maximum employment potential.

I am aware of two industrial proposals in relation to the county constituency of Meath. Since industrial proposals must be treated as confidential, I cannot give the further details asked for by the Deputy.

Not including the one outside Drogheda—the one in County Meath?

Has the Minister any proposals for the establishment of a dead meat industry in Oldcastle?

I am afraid I do not answer those specific questions. These matters must be treated as confidential.

Will the railway be closed down, even though the people want it?

The Deputy is outside my scope now.

The Minister for Transport and Power has left the House.
