Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meath Old Age Pensions.

37.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of persons in receipt of (a) contributory and (b) non-contributory old age pensions in the county health district of Meath at the latest convenient date.

The number of persons in the County Meath receiving old age (contributory) pensions at 28th February, 1963 was 987. The number in receipt of non-contributory old age and blind pensions at 28th December, 1962 was 2,015. The statistics relate to the administrative county area.

38.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of applications outstanding in respect of (a) contributory and (b) non-contributory old age pensions in the county health district of Meath; and when it is expected that such claims will be disposed of.

There are at present nine claims to contributory, and 62 claims to non-contributory old age pension on hands from claimants resident in County Meath. It is not possible to indicate when the claims on hands at any particular date will be cleared but every effort is made and will continue to be made to ensure that decisions are given with the least possible delay.

Question No. 39 postponed.
