asked the Minister for Lands the total number of acres, if any, let in conacre by the Land Commission in the years 1960, 1961 and 1962.
Written Answers. - Conacre Lettings of Land.
78.
On lands acquired under Land Acts, 1923-54, the approximate areas let by the Land Commission in conacre, i.e. for tillage and meadow purposes, during the 1960, 1961 and 1962 seasons were 3,100 acres, 4,300 acres and 4,000 acres, respectively.
In addition, of course, areas of the order of 40,000 acres were let for grazing purposes in each of the years concerned; this area would include a proportion of the "rough grazing" referred to in the reply to Question No. 77.
