Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - County Donegal Factory.

31.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce (a) the amount of State funds, by way of grant and loan, made available to a firm (name supplied) for the establishment of a factory at Ards, Creeslough, County Donegal, (b) the date on which the funds were made available to the company, (c) the date on which the factory went into production, (d) the maximum number of employees employed at any time in the factory, and (e) the present number of Irish nationals employed there.

A total grant of £63,115 was made available to the firm concerned towards the cost of establishing a factory at Ards, Creeslough, County Donegal. This grant was paid in instalments over the period July, 1959 to November, 1961. Particulars were published in the reports of An Foras Tionscal for the years ended 31st March, 1960, 1961 and 1962 which were duly presented to both Houses of the Oireachtas. I understand that the company went into production in June, 1960.

I have no information regarding the employment afforded by the company at any particular time and I do not consider it desirable that a commercial concern should be asked to furnish such information for publication.
