Vol. 201 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Nenagh Estates.

52.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission will take proceedings to have the Wheeler Estate at Lisiniskey, Ballymackay, Nenagh, County Tipperary acquired as there are a large number of smallholders in that area, and as these lands are for sale.

Efforts by the Land Commission to purchase this 150 acre estate two years ago were unsuccessful. There are no current proceedings for acquisition of the estate which, I understand, was sold privately within the past week.

53.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will have the attention of the Land Commission directed towards the acquisition of the McSorley Estate, Kilmore, Nenagh, County Tipperary.

Whilst there are no proceedings for acquisition of this property, I understand that inquiries are currently being made in the matter.
