asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the amount collected by the taxation of foodstuffs for each of the three years ended 31st March, 1963 in the form of a reply of 3rd May, 1960.

Revenue amounting to approximately £1 million was derived from duties on foodstuffs in each of the years ended 31st March, 1961 and 1962. No consumer subsidies were payable on foodstuffs in either of these years.
The corresponding figure in respect of the year ended 31st March, 1963 will not be available for some time. If the Deputy repeats this part of the question about 15th May I hope then to be in a position to supply the required information.
